This arrived today from the Berg & Berg sale.
I don’t have the face for hats but I’m working on the basis that if I’m going to look stupid (but warm) I may as well look stupid in something nice. So very, very, very soft.

Tim Cook responding to the NYT piece about awful working conditions in Chinese factories where many Apple products are assembled.
It’s not a response to the press, it’s a response to the Apple team, which Mark Gurman of 9to5Mac was able to get ahold of.
It’s a good response, and the right one. I’m still just ultimately not sure how much it matters in the grand scheme of things. The real problems go far beyond Apple.
(via parislemon)I wonder what the death and injury rate would look like if all these factories were in the US.
How much better would it be? Would it be better?

If Alexa Chung can’t make high waisted jeans look good - what chance do you have?
NADA
But if you subscribe to “ManReppeller tactics” then go for it as I assure you no straight male likes high waisted jeans..
Meh, Guido being doctrinaire about women’s wear again. A lot of real women would be a hell of a lot better off in high waisted jeans than in things hanging off their hips. Depends on your shape.
Mind you, I don’t think Alexa Chung looks all that good in anything, so not all “straight” men are on the same wavelength.
Will wearing my favorite Drake’s unicorn print square.

Picked up one of those squares in the Drakes store in London at the weekend. Nice. Autumnal though, so it probably won’t see much use until next year.
I think my favorite thing about Flipboard for iPhone is that it’s not a simple port of their iPad app. They definitely could have gotten away with that since their iPad app is brilliant. But the form factor and the use case of the iPhone is different. That’s obvious to say, but it’s surprising how many developers seem to ignore that.
Flipboard for iPhone is a revelation in beauty and user experience. This is how content consumption should work on the phone.
It’s also a much nicer reader for tumblr than any of the tumber apps I’ve tried.
I tried Flipboard a while ago on the iPad, but the lack of phone support killed it for me, and the user experience wasn’t quite right. I think it’s just become my default reader for Facebook/Twitter/Tumblr/etc. If they do a (fullscreen) Mac App I may love them forever.
FFS.
Let’s review:
With shorts or rolled up/cropped causal trousers: no visible socks. Unless you’re a child.
Otherwise, socks.
Random facts: my feet measure as a (UK) 7J.
That’s basically a hoof.
Maybe I should ask a farrier about making me shoes.
One of my projects at the moment is to learn about perfumes.
Vetiver (by Guerlain) has become a favourite everyday scent for me. Its fresh, smoky green wood, earthy, soapy smell is perfect for weekday morning school runs: it’s a perfume for waking yourself up with not a perfume for impressing yummy mummies.
